  7. The 1280 resolution X/SERIES graphics processors for ISA platforms are a
  8. powerful new product family from Vermont Microsystems. They bring high-end
  9. workstation performance characteristic to the '386 Personal (PC), elegantly
  10. solving the needs of both the '386 PC and Workstation environments
  11.  
  12. Together the various components and capabilities of the 2-D Motherboard present
  13. a 60,000 VPS (Vector-per-second) drawing machine with 11 MPIXEL/S scrolling
  14. capability, 40 MPIXEL/S block move and 10,000 polygon/second fill rate.
  15. Hardware gouraud shading comes standard with the product as does system
  16. integration software including X11 and X Window System support. With the 3D
  17. Math Coprocessor module a full 32-bit IEEE floating point capability realizes
  18. 80,000 fully transformed VPS drawing performance
  19.  
  20. The optional board has been integrated into the X/SERIES product with system
  21. drivers which automatically take advantage of the math capability if the math
  22. coprocessor is there. The Z-BUFFER board is an optional 16 or 24 bit Z-buffer
  23. designed for shading applications. The board is a plug-on module similar to the
  24. 3-D Math Coprocessor. Displays either 16 or 256 colors from a palette of 16.7
  25. million.
